Still nothing has been done!

Unfortunately the Kroger in Canton, Ga., despite being advised of the traffic hazard they created with their sign, has not taken any steps to move or remove the sign that blocks the view of customers who are pulling out into a cross traffic situation.

I would point out to Kroger that they have been put on notice of this issue and if/when someone is injured or killed due to their inability to see oncoming traffic that Kroger and their insurance company will have significant liability to those injured, killed and also their insurance carriers.

If they end up in court they will be required to provide all information they have on this issue.  It will be required to acknowledge that they were warned in September 2019 and did nothing to remedy the problem.

Here are some recent photos of the sign.  The first photo was taken from the driver seat of a car waiting to pull out and go to the Kroger gas station.  The driver has to inch out into fast oncoming traffic in order to see any cross traffic.

The sign should never have been built right up to the crossing roadway.

Below:  The cross traffic is traveling fast heading towards Marietta Hwy and they don't expect any cars from coming out from behind this sign.

Kroger was put on notice of this hazard in September

Here is my outgoing letter to Kroger:

10/18/19 KROGER MANAGER 4045 Marietta Hwy Canton, GA 30114 Here is page 1 of 7 pages regarding your sign's blocking the view of vehicles pulling out at the T junction in your parking lot. https://krogertraffichazard.blogspot.com/ This needs to be changed before someone is injured or killed. KROGER GAS STATION - Traffic hazard

Many Holly Mill residents shop at the Kroger on Marietta Hwy, just across from the nicer Publix on Prominence Pt Pky.
I get gas at the Kroger gas station across the parking lot from the store and today I found signage for the gas station that presents a traffic issue for those coming in via the main entrance and making that right turn to go to the gas station.
When you come to the stop prior to making the left you find that the new sign is flush with the traffic lane, no setback at all and it blocks the view of traffic coming from the left for those wanting to pull out and go over to the gas station.
The signage should have been set back from the crossing roadway by at least 20 feet and not put abutting the roadway.
Very poor placement of this large sign, someone was not paying attention when this was approved and built.
Sooner or later some driver edging out to see if there was anyone coming from their left side is going to get T-boned. Hurt and perhaps killed.

Bad Kroger, BAAAD KROGER!

This needs fixing asap-

This just shows that the info was put on the Kroger facebook page and they acknowledged it.

Shown here is the Kroger Facebook site where I also posted about the traffic problem at their Canton, Ga. store:  https://www.facebook.com/messages/t/Kroger

I just tacked this on the back end of the blog site.

The correct date for the post is Jan 12, 2020 5:15 pm.

Took photos of the comment that I added onto the Kroger site just in case anyone at K was interested, so far no one has been interested.

What my comment said:

"The shopping cart area is annoying but this same store (S. Canton) did something really stupid, brought it to the attention of mgmt there and never got a reply so I set up a blog site.

You see photos of a 'new' (2 months by now I guess) sign for their gas station.  Problem is that they put the thing right up next to the travel lane.  If you are in the lane waiting to pull out you can't see s--t, you have to pull out so far that you are actually in that travel lane.

As I pointed out to them that will sooner or later result in some serious accident.  The reason I set up an entire blog is so that should some accident happen and store gets sued they will have to turn over all info about the construction, prior accidents and anything relating to the signage.

So K has been put on notice that they have a problem with the placement of the signage and they failed to correct the issue.  If someone gets killed or maimed for life there K and their insurance company will be sorry that they did not pay attention and redo the sign setting it back another 10 feet from the travel lane.

Like they say, you can lead a horse (or Kroger) to water but you can't make them drink.  see site at   krogertraffichazard dot blogspot dot com"
